Gary and I met in college when he wanted to form a Barber-Shop singing group. He had heard me singing solo in our Glee Club and thought I'd make a good lead for his group. Gary had me sing in a classroom to audition, he liked what he heard and thought I should sing for his voice teacher, Mara Jean Marvin.
Ms. Marvin didn't want to hear or teach another student since she had thirty-nine and was only being paid for thirty-five. Gary made a pain of himself as only he can do and Ms. Marvin relented and said, "I'll give him 5 minutes." The short version is my audition with this kind lady lasted an hour, the results being I was cast in Madame Butterfly the next day and granted a voice scholarship. That's when we started and after a twenty-year career in opera I retired and Gary has started his singing. We have been truly blessed.
Gary is singing with a number of opera companies in Massachusetts while heading up his own company. I have gone on to my own company after serving as aid-de-camp for John Donovan, Nathan Morton, and John Saunders. All major players in the I.T. world. I am now a partner-owner of one of the countries fastest growing I.T. companies.
When not working our butts off working and singing, we sail and fly. Our sloop is named TOSCA and the plane, let's just call her "fruit fly." Three years ago Gary gave me two German Shepherds, Zipper and Zinka. So that's about it other than traveling. Michael has sung around the world and Gary has visited most of Europe. We were married on Michael's birthday last November. After 35 years as a couple it was time.
